Dhp16-218 : 감각적 욕망에 마음이 묶이지 않은 님이 흐름을 거슬러 가는 님이라 불린다.

[Dhp16-218]

chandajāto anakkhāte manasā ca phuṭo siyā

찬다자또      아낙카떼    마나사  짜  푸또  시야

kāmesu ca appaṭibaddhacitto uddhaṃsoto ti vuccati.

 까메수  짜    압빠띠밧다찟또       웃당소또   띠  웃짜띠

 

▣ 선언하지 않은 것(=열반)에 전념하고 마음으로 충만하며, 마음이 쾌락에 얽매이지 않는 이는 흐름을

    거슬러 올라가는 이라 불린다.                 

▣ 말해질 수 없는 것을 의욕하고 정신적으로는 충만하여 감각적 욕망에 마음이 묶이지 않은 님이 흐름을

    거슬러 가는 님이라 불린다.

▣ He in whom a desire for the Ineffable (Nirvana) has sprung up, who is satisfied in his mind,

    and whose thoughts are not bewildered by love, he is called urdhvamsrotas

    (carried upwards by the stream).
