[Dhp18-243]

tato malā malataraṃ avijjā paramaṃ malaṃ,

따또 말라 말라따랑 아윗자 빠라망 말랑

etaṃ malaṃ pahantvāna nimmalā hotha bhikkhavo.

에왕 말랑 빠한뜨와나 님말라 호타 빅카오

▣ 그 더러움들보다 더한 더러움, 가장 큰 더러움은 무명(無明)이다. 이 더러움을 버리고서 청정해지거라,

비구들이여!

▣ 그 모든 티끌보다 더욱 더러운 것, 최악의 티끌은 무명이다. 이러한 티끌을 버리고 수행승들이여,

티끌을 여의어라.

▣ But there is a taint worse than all taints,--ignorance is the greatest taint. O mendicants!

throw off that taint, and become taintless!
