na sīlabbatamattena bāhusaccena vā pana

나 실랍바따맛떼나 바후삿쩨나 와 빠나

atha vā samādhilābhena viviccasayanena vā

아타 와 사마딜라베나 위윗짜사야네나 와

▣ 단지 계율이나 종교적 의무의 준수만으로 또는 학식이 있는 것으로 또는 삼매(=정(定))에 든 것이나

멀리 떨어져 사는 것으로

▣ 단지 금계와 의례를 지키거나 또는 박학을 얻거나 삼매를 성취하거나 한적한 곳에 취침해서만이 아니라.

▣ 271, 272. Not only by discipline and vows, not only by much learning, not by entering into

a trance, not by sleeping alone, do I earn the happiness of release which no worldling can

know. Bhikshu, be not confident as long as thou hast not attained the extinction of desires.
