[Dhp18-249]

dadanti ve yathāsaddhaṃ yathāpasādanaṃ jano,

다단띠 웨 야타삿당 야타빠사다낭 자노

tattha yo maṇku bhavati pāresaṃ pānabhojane

땃타 요 만꾸 바와띠 빠레상 빠나보자네

na so divā vā rattiṃ vā samādhiṃ adhigacchati.

나 소 디와 와 랏띵 와 사마딩 아디갓차띠

▣ 대중은 실로 믿음대로 의향대로 보시(布施)한다. 남들에게 [주어진] 마시는 것과 먹는 것에 마음이

흔들리는 이, 그는 낮에도 밤에도 삼매(=정(定))에 들지 못한다.

▣ 사람은 믿음에 따라 보시하고 기쁨에 따라 보시한다. 다른 사람에게 얻은 마실 것과 먹을 것에 불만을

품는 사람은 밤이나 낮이나 삼매를 얻지 못한다.

▣ The world gives according to their faith or according to their pleasure: if a man frets about

the food and the drink given to others, he will find no rest either by day or by night.
